My brothers and sisters are Joshua, Joseph, Jesse, John, Juanita, Bobbie, Mary, Sarah, Dorothy, and Nancy Taylor. I love writing about the Lord, to give all glory, honor, and praise to Him. I am a published songwriter, poet, author, and sometimes singer. I want to recognize my relatives, Asalea and Isaac Byers, who raised me, and their daughter, Deloris Byers Holcomb.
I was born in 1948 in Fries, Virginia, and raised in Welch, W.Va. I attended Welch Dunbar Elementary and Junior High School, where I was an honor student. I then attended Welch High School. There, our school band played for Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson during the “Veterans Day Parade,” and the “Welch High School Choir” sang a few selections. I was the “Soloist” in the selection “The Battle Hymn of The Republic.” This was performed in the “Pocahontas Theater” in 1963, when I was fifteen. Ironically, my nick-name is Pocahontas!view less
