As a young man, he established as a hobby the Dre-Don Kennels and has bred and shown many dogs to become champions. He also has trained and shown three dogs to their obedience utility titles. He is a charter member of the Kennel Club of Niagara Falls and a past president.
In 1987–1990, Don wrote, directed, and produced for Jones and Adelphia Cable TV, the weekly You and Your Dog series shown in the western New York area. It was one of the first animal shows on cable, and it featured dog owners and their dogs from the immediate vicinity.
In this book, he shares with you stories of the many people from all walks of life who came into his life because of their love for dogs. Don’s favorite quote comes from an unknown author: “Dogs are our children who never grow up.”view less
