Ray Winson was born and raised in New England. After graduating high school in 1963, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving as a Cryptologic Technician until his retirement in 1993.
He se...view moreRay Winson was born and raised in New England. After graduating high school in 1963, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving as a Cryptologic Technician until his retirement in 1993.
He served in Puerto Rico, Germany, Maryland, Okinawa, the Philippines (where he earned distinction as the Senior Sailor of the Year for the Naval Security Group Activity, Clark Air Base). There he performed specialized cryptographic analysis aboard numerous Seventh Fleet ships. Returning to the states he served as a Navy Recruiter in New York City and then transferred to Guam, Hawaii and his final assignment was as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commander Naval Security Group Detachment, United States Army Intelligence School Fort Devens, Massachusetts.
He is a graduate of Western New England College and is married to the former Jenny Solivan of Cayey, Puerto Rico.
He currently resides in Virginia with his wife and children.
Robert E.
