Gladden earned her MA in speech/theatre from SUNY Geneseo and her MA in theatre/speech from Syracuse University. After forty years of teaching English, speech, and theatre at the high school and college levels, she is finally retired.
She served in the US Peace Corps while she was deciding to either become a minister, a professional actress, or a teacher.
In addition to writing original plays and poetry, Sally has a long list of productions she has directed, produced, or performed in. Favorite roles have been Dolly Levi, Mother Courage, and Princess Puffer! Sally has worked with several community theatre companies and presently is the past-president of the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop. Sally also is a roving adjudicator for the Theatre Association of New York. After living in New York (Elmira, Pawling, and Fayetteville, New York—her “always” home), she taught at Darton College, Albany, Georgia. She now resides in Woodridge, New York, where her son, David, and his family and live. She is a crazy cat lady!view less
