He was a tenured, full professor in the Department of Health and Human Development at Montana State University from 1975 until 1994. He has conducted research on near-death experiences for more than twenty years, having interviewed over 400 near-death experiencers. He has given many NDE lectures, workshops, and courses and has published a number of articles on his NDE findings. He has also been a nondenominational hospital chaplain for more than five years, working in large and small hospitals and several nursing homes.view less
