With no telephone or television for many years, the evenings would often be spent with my family and their friends, telling their stories of how they grew up or went to fight during World War II. The tales they told made a lasting impression on me, and I have always has a determination to pass them onto the next generation.
University followed the country schools and then moves into towns, cities, and work. Working with computers is about as far away from threshing corn as you can get, and I am sure the characters in my book must have felt the same being uprooted from London and transplanted to the beautiful but slightly isolated parts of North Wales. I hope my readers will get the same enjoyment from my book as I got listening to the tales all those years ago.view less
