By age 10 I could make full course meals, help milk 17 cows as well as do chores. Grew up big and strong; learned I could take on the whole world if need be. As far as I knew I only had one grandmother and she died when I was 6. At age 8 I lost both my brothers when they drowned near our house. Back then children were to be seen and not heard and that meant keep everything to yourself. Secrets were well kept!
Putting words on paper helped vent some of my fears & anger; in later years to humor & amuse my family. Mother of 1 daughter, 4 sons, 1 step-son, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson (2 more on the way; March & April)
I married a wonderful man who taught me I am never too old to learn new things; learned to drive semi in my late 40's. Drove team for ten years all over USA & Canada. As of 2008, I’m age 60 & my husband is 66. Really miss the open road but health issues, forced us to safely tuck our trucking days on a shelf in memory lane.view less
