“Just a Moment” is Ivan’s first published book but many of the

has preached in California, South Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee.

has preached in California, South Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee.
Of his 73 years Ivan has pastored more than 44 of them, served
four years in the Navy, and twelve years as Vice President of the
Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes. “Just a Moment” is the
outgrowth of all of those years. He pastored in the Low Country
of South Carolina, while serving attached from the Navy to the
United States Marines at Parris Island. These are exactly as they
say, just moments of joy, inspiration, and laughter.
Ivan and his wife, Carole, have a blended family of six children and
ten grandchildren. He and Carole live in Franklin and Byrdstown,
Tennessee where he currently serves as pastor of First Baptist
