He was 1973 Virginia State Champion in the decathlon and coached eleven years at his alma maters.
He currently designs and builds houses, and his hobbies include gardening, running, and building eighteenth-century furniture in his shop. He lives with his wife, Carolyn, in America County, Virginia.view less
