Many people have already heard these poems. I have used them to inspire and to lift people up out of depression, if only for a few minutes. I started writing poems in 2012 when I came up with a simple one titled “Umbrella.” It was written for a friend that I met while I was in treatment in Louisville, Kentucky. From there, I continued writing them, and I have over fifty now. They started as poems about depression and bipolar disorder, then I began to write about addiction and recovery. I do most of my writing in my little blue room in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. I am retired from the military and am a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and bipolar type 1. It does make life pretty challenging, but I understand myself pretty well now, and I am able to cope with my issues while living a happy, peaceful life. I hope this book inspires those who read it and helps those who need it.view less
