He was in the high school art room as much as possible working on some special murals along with other students, to cover the entrance walls. He also took all the drafting classes available. He furthered his art and began majoring in graphic design. But after his senior year receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine art with a major in Graphic design, he decided that teaching was probably his calling. He enrolled in the one year Masters Degree teaching program, and received his Master of Fine Art Degree with a major in teaching. That would be a decision he regretted only once in life. In the nineteen seventies during the oil embargo, when heating the schools took too much of the school budget and the pay raises were one and one half percent while the inflation rate was ten percent, he left teaching. For a ten year period, he worked in the corporate world. They were looking for an artist/draftsman in their graphics department. When the corporate environment became too tiresome, he returned to his favorite and healthier environment of teaching. This time, in the community college of his home town, teaching drawing, painting and art history. He also taught blueprint reading when a teacher was needed. He continues to get his most gratifying evaluations from his students and their parents. Now mostly retired, his career started forty seven years ago and he hopes to reach fifty years. He continues to create his realistic water color paintings from his own pictures. A special account will be set up and all profits from this book will go to charity.view less
