Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. I joined the army transport service during world war two, served mostly in the South Pacific and the Philippine islands. After world war two, I joined the United States Marine Corps. I served in north china and many duty stations in the United States, served mainly as an instructor in combative measures and as a basic training instructor and athletic instructor. I also served in various special services activities. I am a holder of a first degree brown belt in judo. I retired from active duty in 1966.view less
