Avelino is a lifetime student of the Word of God, founding pastor of Antioch Church in Dagupan City, Philippines, and Roadmap Fellowship International in Union City California. He serves as a volunteer to the seniors and needy people of the tri-cities of Fremont, Newark, and Union City and of the Alameda County, California, as a senior peer counselor and community ambassador under the secular leadership of Liz Cox and Asha Chandra, respectively, of the Fremont Resource Center.
Before his calling as a pastor, Ric was a financial services branch head for almost two decades, building people and preaching biblical financial planning and management. He also served as a pharmaceutical medical representative for a decade for three different companies; a syndicated columnist for provincial newspapers, e.g., Business Week Mindanao, La Union’s The Star and Sunday Report in Dagupan City; and a publisher of local newspapers Northern COURIER for eleven years and two magazines, Revelation and Life En Soul (LENS) for two years in the Philippines. He is the brain and co-founder of the eleven-year-old Genesis School of Happy Kids Advanced Studies.
Part of his ministry, Ricardo V. Avelino is a system builder with the world financial group based in California with associates in the different states of America under the coaching of Xuan Nguyen through Julius Reyes and Arnie Acosta of the Royal Team. Ric also coaches his bachelor sons and daughter in the management of the branch of Manulife Philippines based in Dagupan City province of Pangasinan with associates of Unit Managers and Financial Advisors around the country, Philippines. He travels as a missionary pastor licensed and ordained by Kingsway Fellowship International.
Socially, he is a member of the Islands City Toastmasters Club of Alameda CA Area A22 District 57, Filipino Church Planters Network (CPN) in the Bay Area led by Pastor Romy Soy, Historical Museum in Union City founded by Filipino American Myrla Raymundo, and also a member of East Oakland Seniors Center. Ricardo is also the president of the twenty-seven-year-old Filipino American Society Inc. (FASI) of North California, Charter President of LUAP (Dagupan-Pangasinan Chapter), Past Lt. Governor, Division 1, Philippines Luzon District of Kiwanis International.
