Dr. George Quarshie was born in Accra, Ghana. He attended Mfantsipim School and then Pope John’s Secondary, both high schools for five and two years, respectively, before proceeding to the University of Ghana, Legon. After a year, here he gained a partial scholarship to Ripon College in Wisconsin, USA. He transferred to York College (City University of New York) in Jamaica, Queens, New York, where he graduated with a BSc in medical technology.
He then attended St. John’s University in Jamaica, Queens, from 1991 to 1994, where he graduated to become a physician’s assistant.
He later attended IUHS (International University of the Health Sciences) at St. Kitts, where he obtained his MD and then completed his residency training in family medicine at Memorial University Hospital Center in Savannah, Georgia.
He worked at Southside Regional Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia, and VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) Hospital as a clinician and assistant professor and is currently medical director at Concentra Urgent Care in Innsbrook, Virginia.view less
