My father was a dairyman and employed men to work for him. My mother was a housewife who had to cook for the men when the hired cook would leave. I had one brother who was seven years older than myself. I had two cousins who lived next door since their dad was my dad’s partner, and that allowed me to have a wonderful childhood. I was always a dreamer and always wanted to be famous. To be a famous painter or writer was at the top of my list. I married someone I met at work at a place called Asbill’s in Modesto, California, in 1957. We were married for fifty years until he passed away in 2007. We were not blessed with children but used to teach Sunday school at our church and often had the children come over for parties. I continued to paint, write, and do crafts, puzzles.
When I worked in a bank, I wrote about the humorous banker. On one of my hospitals visits, I wrote a story about the battle of the pills versus the capsules. I really enjoy thinking of things to write that would interest a child. I probably never really grew up. My vision is to be “the Grandma Moses” of children’s literature.view less
