Philiy has worked in the creative industries for over 24 years. She started as an award winning photojournalist for publications like The Guardian and Marie Claire, before moving on to BBC documentaries, advertising, picture editing, book publishing, and working as a feature film production manager.
She has been a Teaching Fellow of entrepreneurship at the University of Bristol, and continues to deliver creative business start up courses, around the world, for Nesta & The British Council. She also delivers remote mentoring for start-ups in countries like the Ukraine, Brazil, Turkey, New Zealand and the UK.
Philiy is an invited RSA Fellow for the work she does for Creative Women International, and her mission is to dispel the myth of the starving artist.
When she’s not working on Creative Women International, you can find her drinking good coffee, hiking up mountains or playing tea parties with her young son Huxley.view less
