I would sometimes have to sit in the shade of a big oak tree and tend to my two younger brothers while our parents and sister continued to work. We did not own any books, nor did we have access to a library. Therefore, in order to keep the little guys quiet and from running around getting into things, I made up stories to tell them. They loved the stories, especially the one about the little lost dog who wanted his mother. I noticed that I could evoke different emotions from them by changing the types of stories I told.view less
