Born in Jackson, Mississippi, she now lives in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1998 she began her career as an educator in the Bessemer City School System. English was her specialty; she instilled in each child a love for reading and writing. She was more than a teacher; to her students she was a mentor. Although she is no longer a teacher she still devotes her life to the youth of her church. In 2013, she became the First Lady of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, where she teaches Sunday school, works with the youth and is the praise and worship leader. Tawaii has been married to Donald Black for 18 years and they have four great kids.view less
