Franklin managing editor and creative writing instructor at the Carver Library since 2008. She is the second daughter of Nathaniel and Ruth Ella Lara Franklin and proud parent of Alexis Franklin. Ms. Franklin began writing at the age of six.
She has published three previous anthologies: Carver Literary Anthology 2010, Set Your Compass to the Stars, Imagination 2019. A Legacy to Leave Our Youth, An Untouched Song, A New Beginning, Going Home, Hot Women, The PhD Game: Confessions of a Black Academic.

Ms. Franklin is a 1978 graduate of Incarnate Word College BA, 1990 graduate of Webster University MA, and a 1998 graduate of University of the Incarnate Word MAEd. She is pursuing a PhD in Organizational Leadership. She received an Honorable Mention for Self Publishing 1996, and received The Arts and Letters Award from the San Antonio Public Library 3029.
Her motto is Always Follow Your Dream. She has helped establish the Carver Literary Arts Society and has taught a creative writing class since 2009.view less
