In 1940 she fled Luxembourg due to the German invasion, and traveled across Europe working in journalism, aiding refugees and becoming friends with literary figures like Sartre, Malraux and Marcel. She began studying philosophy under mentors such as Jaspers and Heidegger, and eventually earned a degree in philosophy, as well as a Masters and a Doctorate in Economics. She worked with several international financial institutions and the Central Banks of a few countries in the Americas. She taught philosophy and economics in several institutions for many years (and continues to do so). She is currently 97 years old and has lived in Mexico for the past 30 years.view less
