She re-enlisted for Oakla...view moreLinda Earls joined the Women’s Army Corps in August 1964. At the end of her first enlistment she tried to re-enlist for Vietnam but was told there were no slots available. She re-enlisted for Oakland Army Base, California, as close as she could get to Vietnam. After the mandatory three months there she volunteered and received orders to report to Vietnam in May 1968. She served a year in-country. After her return to the states she had many stateside assignments and twice served in Germany. She retired in 1988 with the rank of First Sergeant.view less
