He has written at least 15 published books, the latest of which, 2012, is entitled Whiteness in America. He has taught sociology at the college level since 1958. His research and study have carried him to the Caribbean, Denmark, and Africa and to much of America. He received the Ph.D. in sociology at Washington State University, Pullman, Washington in 1963. He is a recent retiree of the University of Arkansas, where he worked for some 44 years.view less
