She is a speaker, advocate, educator, and writer within the autism community. Kristin Selby Gonzalez is also the mother of a son with autism. Kristin has been working with her son for over a decade and has seen him progress from very withdrawn with no language, to a playful and interactive boy who now has limited speech, rides bikes, swims, goes to the beach and is learning to read. She possesses an extraordinary body of knowledge and experience with both educational and biomedical interventions for autism, including enzyme therapy, dietary intervention, sensory integration, and play therapy.
The idea of Buzzlebee™ came from her son, Jaxson, who didn't understand why we say Bees "buzz" and then call them Bumblebees. Jaxson sees things a bit differently and Kristin celebrates his creativity and reminds everyone that being different is what makes all of us special.
