A long-time California Marriage and Family Therapist, Ilene has helped thousands of people to understand why we have emotions, what they are intended to do for us, and how to work masterfully with them, so that we become Master of the emotions that arise in us, rather than allowing those emotions to dictate life to us. She reveals how to Partner with emotions as 24/7/365 lifetime human navigational tools.
Ilene is a pioneer of the Emotional Literacy movement, having published her first books on the subject in 1994. A "Recovered Angry Person," Ilene is also an expert on building and maintaining high self-esteem, ending co-dependence, turning anger into enthusiasm and embracing "Fear-less Living," Ilene helps people improve their lives in ways that are lasting and make the ups and downs of life less chaotic and easier to go through. She offers an understanding of what we're all doing here on earth, how the system operates, and how emotions remain constantly available to help us on our journey.
Ilene currently lives full time in her 24 foot RV, traveling with her 8 pound Maltipoo dog, Pi., and working as she goes. Ilene is speaking, consulting, appearing on media broadcasts, and working on her next books, including one on Ending Co-Dependence (something humans are designed to do!). Ilene continues to serve all-including those who help others reach new levels--who want to develop persistently powerful and amazing lives by bypassing emotional "management" and going directly to emotional "mastery".
Ilene's husband, neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Fink, died in 2016. She is the mother of 6 adult "children" and grandmother of 5. Since 2017, Ilene has visited 30 states and 4 Canadian provinces.
