She started the writing process by imagining Samantha’s character and then created the first conflict – Samantha’s fear of the woods. From there, the book took on a life of its own, and the plot developed as more characters were introduced.Once she wrote the first book, Melanie realized Samantha had a lot more adventures to find and mysteries to solve.
