The administration was shocked to find Laura didn’t even have a car. Next was protesting to move the age of voting from 21 to 18 and from there she continued to fight to end the Vietnam War and fight for women’s and minority rights. While attending Ithaca College, she met her future husband Dave, a Brit, while spending junior semester abroad in the United Kingdom. She then went on to become a recruiter in the emerging field of computers. After advising many entry level programmers on how to get into the field she wrote the book “How to Break Into Data Processing” published by Prentice Hall 1982. Today she remains an activist on Facebook, connected to 4300+ fellow progressives and feminists, as well as being one of the founding members of MoveOn’s Web team during the 2012 election cycle. She has one son Derek Sessions, who works in the computer field, of course.
Laura never misses a chance to vote. If she had been born 32 years earlier, she wouldn’t have been allowed to. Our foremothers were jailed and horribly mistreated while fighting to win that precious vote.
