He grew up in suburban Cleveland, Ohio toward the end of the baby boom. The neighborhood was idyllic, similar to Dennis the Menace sitcom neighborhood of the same era – middle class, white, dozens of kids in the neighborhood, free to roam until the streetlights came on. 13 years Catholic school education. 4 years engineering school. Married Renee, high school sweetheart at age 21. They were blessed with 3 kids, a house, and 2 cars by age 31. Ted and Renee brag of their greatest accomplishment – three adult children flying under their own power, who are genuinely wonderful people to go for a hike with, who choose to visit home, who invite us to their places, and have blessed us with our first grandchild, October 2019. Although Ted has lived in the Cleveland area his whole life, Ted has traveled extensively for work, education and pleasure. While Ted professionally pursued a diverse array of experiences in engineering, technical sales and marketing, executive management, and small business ownership, he’s always kept one foot on the path of searching for spiritual meaning, psychological health, sociological understanding, and opportunities for community building. All-in-all a life filled with blessings, relationships, and many teachers along the path. Today he wonders how best to help bring about We The People 2.0. The small book, Is America Broken?, published March 2020 in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, is hoped to bring both hope and opportunity for fellow “regular” Americans.
