She was born in Red Springs, North Carolina on April 1, 1892, the daughter of Francis Milton Townsend and Mary Bertha Towles Townsend, both natives of Robeson, North Carolina, and had four siblings, Donald, Mabel Agnes, Daniel Earle and Howard Eugene. Sara Townsend passed away on February 15, 1967, aged 74.
JOHN LAURENS (1754-1782) was an American soldier and statesman from South Carolina during the American Revolutionary War. He was an aide-de-camp to George Washington and a colonel in the Continental Army. Laurens was killed in the Battle of the Combahee River in August 1782.view less
