With a Ph.D. in Human Biology, he applies molecular biology techniques and utilizes his knowledge of molecular and cellular immunology to develop new gene therapies to improve immunotherapies against cancer. He has more than 20 publications in highly reputable journals including Science and Cell Press Journals. His 2013 publication in Science Signaling Journal featured as Cover Story and his latest publication in Cell Press journal was recently highlighted in Cell Press Crosstalk. Dr. Balkhi hopes to establish a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) Immunotherapy program.
