He founded the digital-marketing and strategy agency Creative Spark, which he sold to UK-listed firm M&C Saatchi. He also rans the Burn Media Group – including Memeburn.com, Ventureburn.com and Gearburn.com websites – and worked for the Media Development Investment Fund, a New York and Prague-based global media fund. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Buckland headed up the online division of the 'Mail & Guardian' and founded the award-winning 20FourLabs at Naspers. He worked at the BBC’s digital arm in London as a developer and web producer. He was a passionate mountain biker, and lived in Cape Town with his wife, two daughters and their Weimaraner.view less
