At age 16 he joined the Royal Navy as a boy and later trained as a diver, which led on to a life-long interest and love of the sea, both above and below the surface.
After leaving the navy he wrote a few accounts of his diving exploits, which were published and well received. In time, this encouraged him to develop as a short story writer, writing mostly about the sea, shipwrecks, diving, submarine disasters and murder cases. Roger has had a number of books and numerous stories and articles published in a number of countries.
Roger is now retired and living with his wife Lim in Wellington, New Zealand. Though he no longer dives in the open sea, he does quite a lot of researching and writing about a variety of subjects, including murder.
Roger's other books:
Dangerous Waters — Horizon Press, Wellington, New Zealand 1999
Perilous Seas — Bateson Publishing Limited, Wellington, New Zealand 2009
Pigs Might Fly — Self-published, Wellington, New Zealand, 2010view less
