She lived in Marsden Park from 1932 to 1949. She has been writing since she was a child and has had her poetry and short stories published, and her plays produced. Throughout her life she has learnt various crafts including spinning, knitting, doll making and decoupage. In addition she is a member of many writing groups and art societies, and has been teaching Chinese brush painting for 11 years. Mavis married Gordon Gunter at a young age and had four children.view less
