He was born in California, where he served as Dean of Golden Gate University School of Law from 1934 to 1941. During World War II, he served as an officer in the largest and longest Army court-martial resulting from the Fort Lawton Riot in August 1944. He died in San Francisco, California in 1970 at the age of 63.view less
