Horace Armour, Sr. was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was a student of Northern High School. After graduation in 1955, he found himself working at the Ford Motor Company in the tank department, where he grew tired of the factory life. On April 25, 1955, Armour joined the military, serving only four years. He returned to Detroit, Michigan, in 1959. Armour found himself as an outsider and unable to deal with his new life. He went back to the military, the life that he loved. A Vietnam veteran with over twenty-one years in the military, he now lives in Fairfield, California.
In 1977, he went back to school seeking a better education, only to drop out of college to support his family in 1979. Twenty-one years later in the year of 2010, Armour found himself back in college at San Francisco State University, picking up on his education where he left off in 1979.view less
