He is the former Boeing Technical Fellow and is currently doing part-time consulting for aerospace companies. Dr. Farahmand is the author of three technical books in material science. In addition, he contributed to two other books and has authored numerous technical papers and a fracture mechanics handbook. He has done extensive research in the field of virtual testing to avoid costly and time-consuming material tests at the expense of analysis. He is the author of two computer codes (FTD and FCG) that are currently used in aerospace companies for estimating material fracture properties rapidly without conducting tests. Dr. Farahmand was also involved with nanotechnology with emphasis in computational material. His last book is titled Virtual Testing and Multiscale Modeling. His science fiction book The Clash of Nanoman and Abman” is based on his extensive scientific research in the field of material and an in-depth understanding of material from the bottom up approach. Dr. Farahmand believes cells in human beings can be manipulated from atomistic level to make them smarter and stronger, just like any other material made primarily from atoms.view less
