Martha developed a wonderful...view moreIn 1999, the children of Haiti, specifically those in schools built by Frances Landers, found their way into the heart and life of Martha Abbey Miller. Martha developed a wonderful friendship with Frances and an admiration for her Haiti Education Foundation. On trips to Haiti, Martha photographed thousands of children in HEF schools scattered across the mountainous region of Grande Colline. She became one of many HEF supporters who couldn’t stop smiling when a letter from Frances arrived in the mailbox.
After retiring from a thirty-year communications career, Martha enjoys using her writing skills to support her church and community non-profits. She is also a motivational speaker. Unexpectedly, another career blossomed. Martha researches, writes, and performs first-person portrayals of women of historical importance. She continues to stay involved in Haiti Education Foundation’s ministry, and was delighted to write Hope Personified to honor Frances Landers. This is Martha’s first book.
Though her childhood, educational, and early career years were spent in Kansas, Minnesota, and Illinois, Martha is proud that the lovely town of Westlake Village, California, is home to she and her husband Don, and their adorable dog Annie.
