Christine Sopa is the founder of Chris Sopa International and an internationally renowned inspirational speaker and author in the field of self-improvement. As one of the emerging thought leaders in how changing your thoughts can change your life, Chris' interactive facilitating style, humor and healthy dose of spirituality allow her workshops to be a safe-haven for looking beyond limitations and into ones own soul to see where transformation is waiting to happen. Chris is known for her expertise in organizational/cultural change and performance enhancement and motivation in organizations throughout the globe.
Chris possesses a bachelor’s degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine from Bowling Green State University and a Masters Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University, focusing her thesis work on stress-management in the workplace. After working over a decade in corporate America in sales, management, health care and corporate training, she suffered from chronic ulcerative colitis at 32 years old and almost lost her life. Upon healing herself from this stress-related illness, Chris made it her life purpose to help empower others to reduce the stress in their lives and heal themselves by changing how they think and view the world around them.
Chris is also the founder of Chris Sopa International Journeys, a subsidiary company of CSI. CSI Journeys escorts clients on international journeys to sacred sites around the globe, such as Machu Picchu in Peru and Greece, to continue their personal development and healing through challenging them in a "non-ordinary" environment to face the fears, behavior patterns and conditioning that have shaped their lives thus far.
Chris has served on several Board of Directors including the Blood Bank of Delmarva where she served as Vice Chair; the Susquehanna Habitat for Humanity; the Cecil County Public School Board of Education which she served for 4 years, 1 year being Vice President and 2 years being President and the Maryland Association of Boards of Education. Chris is also a member of the Gambia Women’s Initiative, a non-profit organization which helps rural women become effective economic agents in their communities; Project Peru, which is Chris' own non-profit organization serving residents in rural communities in Peru helping them find sustainable sources of income to further educate their community and their children and a member of the Manchester's Who's Who of Executives and Professionals. Chris was a nominee for the 2011 Athena International Women’s Leadership Award as well as an author of several published articles and her new book published in 2012 by Balboa Press, "Choosing the Life You Were Born to Live."
Chris lives in Scottsdale, AZ and has two grown daughters.view less
