His degrees include: a doctor of naturopathic medicine from Pacific College in Palto Alto, California, in 1980, Master of Acupuncture from the Occident Institute of Chinese Studies in Miami, Florida in 1981, and a Doctorate on Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1988. From 1985-1991, He studied under private tutorship (Chinese herbal medicine) with the late Dr. Hong-yen Hsu at the Oriental Healing Arts Institute in Long Beach, California.
Dr. Moore, a well-respected professional, is known throughout the nation for his healing skills and teaching talents. He has been practicing Chinese medicine full time since 1975 and has been a key figure in his professional community promoting the growth of Chinese medicine. He was the founding president of the Acupuncture Association of New Mexico and served as a member of the New Mexico State Board of Acupuncture for seven years. Dr. Moore was the co-founder, teacher, and assistant director for the Institute of Traditional Medicine and the Southwest Acupuncture College. From 2001-2005 Dr. Moore taught at the Green Mountain Institute of Oriental Medicine, in White Fish, Vermont and was the Department Head for the herbal program. In 2006 he retired from teaching. Presently, Dr. Moore has his practice in Ronan, Montana since 2005.view less
