JOHN A. LEDDEN, Sr. was raised by Christian parents, and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior during family worship at age ten. LEDDEN, Sr. was raised by Christian parents, and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior during family worship at age ten. In Scouting he earned the rank of Eagle and served as assistant Scout Master. Following high school he worked as an apprentice machinist and then served in the U.S. Navy for 38 months as an aviation machinist in WWII. During college, seminary and as a pastor he did several different types of work that provided practical experience. He was ordained as a minister in 1953 and served as pastor of four churches and interim pastor of five churches and taught at Shelton College and John Knox Jr. College. He and Lorraine were married in 1944 and they raised four children. They now live in Amherst, VA.view less
