Despite many serious illnesses, he won a scholarship to and attended St. George Grammar School and went on to Bristol University College of Technology to earn the British equivalent of BS, MS, and PhD degrees in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. He worked for the Bristol Aeroplane Company (later Rolls Royce) as a professional engineer and came to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1966 to work for Lockheed Georgia Company as a professional design engineer. During the next twenty-two years, he was awarded several patents and was appointed to the Honor Roll of Inventors. Upon retirement from the industry in 1989, he became interested in medical research, working currently on multiple sclerosis and other nerve disorders. A book on that subject is presently being written.view less
