We all live together in a small house on the side of a hill overlooking the nearby village of Adamstown, where both my wife and myself were educated at the local college. My wife is a full-time mother who bakes the world’s greatest brown bread in her very limited spare time, while I am unemployed and have spent the past few years working on my poetry and writing short stories and plays. I say working, but I enjoy it so much it does not feel like work. It’s more of a hobby than anything else.
The fact that we live out in the countryside is wonderful, the long walks one can take and the birds twittering at dusk is always music to our ears. We live down an old rocky lane, away from everything, with few visitors and nothing but the livestock to interrupt the silence. It’s the perfect setting for small adventurous children.
Life has always been good to me, but never more so than when I found my wife. She opened up my eyes to a world of happiness and love, a world I never knew could ever exist. I dedicate this short book to her, without whose love and kindness would never have been imagined.view less
