She was the first female to serve as president of the Southern Home Furnishings Association, headquartered in High Point, North Carolina. Also during this time, she was very active in her local church, serving as pianist and adult Sunday school teacher. She still serves as pianist and leads a ladies’ Bible study. She later closed her business to be caregiver for her ailing mother. Soon after her mother's death, she chose to write through the grief about her mother, while continuing the caregiver role to her beloved father. Sharon lives in Sparta, Tennessee, with her husband, where she continues to write and looks forward to publication of future books on other topics, including decorating, entertaining, as well as works of fiction and other Christian-based subjects.view less
