Seales is Pastor-Teacher of Tyree African Methodist Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She served as pastor of Bethlehem African Methodist Episcopal Church in Langhorne, Pa. for over seven years. Esther received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at fourteen years old. After college graduation Esther relocated to Philadelphia to work for the Federal Government. Esther determined that she wanted to be a Biblical Scholar and to really know God's Word. She started studying the Bible and practicing the discipline of fasting and prayer. She has been practicing the discipline of fasting for thirty-five years. Esther has taught over fifty different Bible Classes at four churches in the Philadelphia area. She has taught these churches the kinds of fasts and has led them into the discipline of fasting and prayer during the Lenten Season and at other times when there was a need for a breakthrough. Esther continues to fast at least one day a week. She has found that her most effective fast is a three day normal fast, three days without food and only drinking water. Esther experiences peace, physical healing, and emotional strength as a result of fasting and praying. She also witnesses breakthroughs in the lives of others when they fast and pray. Esther enjoys academia; she is a lifetime scholar. She was graduated from The Lutheran Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry, Masters of Sacred Theology, and Masters of Divinity. She holds a B.S. in Bible from Philadelphia Biblical University, and a B.S. in Secondary Education with concentration in English from Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia. "Living Holy and Healthy by Fasting and Praying" was written out of the author’s personal conviction as a mandate from God to speak to the weary, worn out souls, whose lives are spiraling out of control because of the challenges of life. Fasting and prayer disciplines the body, soul, and spirit, and promotes a holy and healthy living.view less
