Asher Drapkin has had a keen interest in writing sci-fi since taking an interest in astronomy from the age of five. Today, he is a member of the Leeds Astronomical Society (the oldest in Britain). ...view moreAsher Drapkin has had a keen interest in writing sci-fi since taking an interest in astronomy from the age of five. Today, he is a member of the Leeds Astronomical Society (the oldest in Britain). Likewise, he is a member of Leeds Writer Circle. He started his working life as an apprentice watchmaker and, during his military service, was an instrument technician in the Royal Air Force.
He lives in Leeds in the UK together with his wife. His son is a science graduate of Sheffield University. His daughter gained her degree in European studies and French.
All the family has a keen interest in horticulture.
For seven years, Asher was an agricultural and language student in Israel, where he learned the language and lived for a while in a kibbutz.
An avid reader, he enjoys the works of H. G. Wells and Isaac Asimov. He has written a number of short stories—various genres.
This anthology is his first, and he is currently preparing a second.view less
