I found that writing my thoughts helped me to process the layers of grief that I felt. During my grieving for my husband, my mother died and I started the process all over again. Writing poetry has always been my private obsession. For me, writing is part of my daily existence, a thread running through all my experiences, circumstances, changes. I find that I cannot separate one from the other. Writing poetry is like breathing to me, it has become a way for me to put my experiences and feelings in perspective, to discover myself, to create a new me. Finding my voice has helped me to speak my own truths.view less
