Her first cookbook Basics with a Twist was published in 2011. She has been vegetable farming since 2007; and sells at the Fulton Street Farmers Market in Grand Rapids, MI with her wife Valerie Lane. She has been on the Board of Directors for the Fulton Street Farmers Market for 8 years, serving as their Vice-President for two consecutive terms.
