He graduated with a Masters in English from the College of Arts, University of Baghdad, and went on to teach at the university level. His translations and writings have appeared in Iraqi, Arab, and eventually American journals and periodicals. He lives in Columbia, Missouri, with his wife, Shehla, and their daughters, Maha, Ghada, and Layla.view less
