In my studies, I’ve dealt with a variety of genres in different eras in the originals and also in the translation works. After closing my business several years ago, I worked extensively translating into Japanese: African Folktales (Ghana), European Folktales, Okinawan Folktales, and am 1/3 of the way through translating my husband’s novel, The Grass Mausoleum. I have begun the first in a series of “Tails.” Currently, I am working on a travel journal. I contributed to a newsletter about Uchina-guchi (the Okinawan language) for a local Okinawan organization and also helped some businesses with translation work.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, decorating cakes, gardening, photography and playing the piano.
Currently, I am living in Mountlake Terrace, Washington with my husband, Don, our youngest son, Robert, and with our five-year-old basset hound, Hanako.view less
