the hostilities in Korea broke out. Like many young reservists having just
graduated from high school, George soon found himself on his way to Korea. After serving 13 months with the 1st
Marine Division, which included the campaign at the Chosin Reservoir, followed
by four other major campaigns and receiving 2 Purple Hearts, George returned
home to begin the new life that was so suddenly interrupted. Born in Chicago of Greek ancestry, at the
start of WWII the family moved to San Francisco when his father had gained
employment in the shipyards. Today George lives with his wife Charlotte in
Sonoma, a small town in the Wine Country of Northern California. Also author of
the non-fiction action/adventure “Under the Sea of Cortez, Early underwater
exploration and spear-fishing.”view less
