At the Associated Press headquarters in New York, she was a division head, with focus on Asia. In recent years, she has taught at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and on the San Francisco peninsula on the subjects: Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Silk Road (from China to Rome). She is the co-author of Pacific Security with Dr. Claude A. Buss, her Far Eastern History professor at Stanford University. She adopted two Asian boys.view less
